Our Story

The concept for Embers of Hope was born during my work with a safehouse in another state, where I was tasked with developing an effective mental health program. The barriers were overwhelming, particularly the complex and time-consuming credentialing process required for state insurance. These hurdles made it incredibly difficult for the women in the safehouse to receive the proper care they needed to begin healing from exploitation. After months of frustrations and setbacks, I decided to create a nonprofit that would directly fund treatment and bypass the bureaucratic processes that often delay care.

As a therapist myself, I also wanted to provide a platform where other therapists could contribute to this important cause without sacrificing fair compensation. Therapists should be properly compensated for their invaluable work, especially as insurance companies continue to reduce the amount they reimburse. Embers of Hope aims to support both sides of the treatment process—ensuring that individuals receive timely, effective care while also protecting the well-being of the providers. In doing so, we aim to foster healing, restoration, and reduce provider burnout.

Our Vision

Ensure that every human trafficking victim, regardless of financial status, has access to trauma-informed mental health services. By connecting therapists with donors, the goal is to offer therapy sessions free of charge to those in need, empowering them on their path to healing and recovery.
